Good morning and happy Friday friends!! This morning I wanted to introduce to Kachet, the fashion blogger behind www.thelipstickgiraffe.com. She is a local fashion blogger here in Sacramento and I have had the privilege of spending some time with her over coffee and photo shoots… she is an entrepreneur and MAJOR goals!! Hear what she had to say about Women Empowering Women, below!!
1)As a blogger do you feel more competition or support from your fellow blogger peers? In what way do you receive and give support?!
It’s always love and respect amongst other bloggers I’ve encountered. Now, some may be more overt than others on that, but I’ve never come across anyone that has been nasty or demeaning. Everyone has their “something” that sets them apart so I definitely have felt the support to embrace that and have been support to those who have wanted to shake it up a bit and try something new. I’d love to see more leaning in, because we have so much to learn from each other – in life and in the blogging business world. It can only enhance what we all are already doing and I truly feel there is enough opportunity out there for everyone.
2) What does the phrase “Women Empowering Women” mean to you?
It means supporting another in their endeavours, in their dreams. It means collaborating or making an introduction if it can benefit someone else. It means standing up for someone else when someone disrespects them. If I were thinking about it in terms of how I would empower my readers, it’s by always being transparent and true to what The Lipstick Giraffe stands for. I’ve kept it real with everyone from day one and I wouldn’t change that for anything.
3) If you could empower women to do one thing what would that be?!
Love themselves and believe that they are enough. Life isn’t picture perfect, it’s anything but. We’re all just out here trying to do the best that we can, and asking for help, or finding ways to help ourselves isn’t a shameful act. To me, it’s the strongest and boldest act of self love a person can do.
Thank you friends for stopping along for and for everyone who has followed this series!! We have had a great time!! Next week is our final week of the series so please don’t miss it!! Have an amazing weekend!!
Much love,
Ruthie xo

this serious is everything.
for real. I love the showcase of supporting others and removing competition from it – and these interviews have been so on POINT.
This was my favorite part, because it reminds me of all our SC babes and other blog girls:

I love it – you da best. happy weekend.

How fun, and what a great message! I don’t know if it’s the jobs I’ve had in the past, or what, but I feel like the blogging community is so supportive as compared to some situations I’ve been in out in the “corporate world.” Thanks for posting!
