As some of you may know, my family and I got the amazing opportunity to go to Disneyland this past month and, honestly, I am still freaking out about it!! The last time we went to Disneyland was about 8 years ago when the kids were so little they could hardly remember anything. So, to us, it really felt like their first time! Clearly, you can see on their sweet faces how insanely excited they were. Ben and I definitely felt the same.
Even though our first day was a lot of travel and getting settled in, we did not waste any time to start having fun at the Resort! We were so blessed to be hosted by Disney along with a lot of other amazing content creators, so the first thing we got to do was spend some time with a lot of the other creatives there while bowling at the Splitsville bowling alley in Downtown Disney!
Afterwards, we popped back over to our room at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for a quick refresh and outfit change.
Also, I have to mention that this hotel was beyond gorgeous!! It has this cozy, woodsy feel to it and it’s design is inspired by the beautiful redwoods of Northern California, so it really felt like home! It even connects to the California Adventure Park so you can literally go directly into the park from your own personal entry when you stay there!! Being able to go directly from the hotel into the park and vice versa was a luxury I was not expecting and made our trip so much more relaxing.
We then hopped over to Disneyland and got to see the breathtaking fireworks that had just recently returned to the parks since being gone for over a year!! People always say that Disney makes things magical and the fireworks are definitely a perfect example of that! That’s the best word I can think to describe it…magical!
Day 2 was off-the-walls AMAZING!!! We got to go into California Adventure to see Disney’s brand new Avengers Campus!! Before heading that way though, we got to stop by the Lamplight Lounge, located right as you enter Pixar Pier, and ate the most delicious brunch!!
After brunch, we headed over to Avengers Campus and we definitely spent most of the day there!! There were so many amazing mini shows of all our favorite Marvel character, including the Dora Milaje from Wakanda, Spider-Man (who literally flies through the air!!), Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and so many more!! We also got to go on the new Web Slingers ride! I was completely blown away and still have no idea how they can somehow track your hands to then shoot virtual webs on the screen where we aimed like we were actually Spiderman!!
We then got to end the night by staying in the park after hours for a special Ant-Man and the Wasp interaction with the coolest treats including the biggest candy bar I’ve ever seen from Pym Test Kitchen!! The food there is based on the Ant-Man movie so it’s all crazy-sized portions!! Again, another way Disney throws in that magical touch that just blows you away.
The next day was an early morning. We got to go into the park before it opened!! That’s right! I still can’t believe it!! We got to take some beautiful, once in a lifetime family photos and even took a few fun TikToks and Reels with some of the other creators there!! It was so sweet to see Ava, Sav, J, and even Ben get super into it.
Afterwards, we immediately went into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!! All of us are MASSIVE Star Wars fans so this was literally a dream come true. Even though Ben and I remembered our last trip to Disneyland when the kids were little, SO much was brand new that it felt like we were there for the first time!! Especially, in Galaxy’s Edge where you legitimately feel like you’re on another planet!
We got the chance to experience all the rides there, including the new Rise of the Resistance ride, which is probably the most incredible ride in the entire park!! I’ve never felt so immersed into a storyline before, like I was actually joining the rebellion. It’s so detailed and HUGE that I couldn’t even tell you where we were in the park while we were on it. In my mind, I stand by that we were actually in space!!
The kids even got to create their own special droids in the Droid Depot. It was the perfect way to have a fun experience while also creating your very own custom souvenir to take home!
Later that evening, we did a little shopping in Downtown Disney and grabbed these super cute jungle themed outfits for the red carpet premiere of the new Jungle Cruise movie!! What?!! I couldn’t believe it! It really was the most insane experience we’ve ever had as a family!!
I couldn’t believe the people we got to see and meet!! The girls became paparazzi for the night and got some pictures of Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt and then we actually got to meet John Stamos!! Never in my life did I think I would be able to say that!! The movie was so fun and I was absolutely overjoyed that I got to experience it with my family all together!!
Clearly, we had the time of our lives and are still in shock over the whole thing. I will forever treasure these memories and could not be more grateful to Disney for making this seriously once in a lifetime vacation possible!! I will truly never forget it!
