{Dreams, goals and going for it with Shop 1802}

Instagram and social media in general, have become an avenue in which people are able to connect from all walks of life from all over the world. One way or another shop 1802 and I found each other. My heart sings when I stumble across people that have a similar heart beat to mine.  I too believe in doing what makes you come alive and runs with the beat of your heart. Nancy is a dreamer and a doer. Hear how shop 1802 came to be. Hope you’re inspired this morning.

“1802 was created while on the quest for happiness. Happiness that is fueled by doing what you love, what makes you feel good and what gives your life some extra sparkle & meaning. This is my enterprise:

I enjoyed being an early childhood educator ( and still do!), but I yearned to do something else that I loved. It took me a long time to figure out what that something else was but after many days journaling, brainstorming on paper, and discussing various things with my loved ones, 1802 magically came together.

1802 as a whole involves many of my interests; buying clothes, indulging in handmade products, supporting small businesses and most importantly, a piece of my childhood. 1802 is where I grew up in Chicago and since I was on a quest to find my happiness, it only felt right to name by business after my “ happy place”. After all, growing up where I did reflects a lot about who I am as a person today.

Along the journey my partner, Francisco (now fiance), decided to join me. He has become my photographer and financial advisor. 1802 is a team of 2. A team of two individuals that believe that true happiness is found when you listen to you heart.” – Nancy
