This morning I wanted to introduce you to fellow #girlboss Tahaji! This week we are starting our Women Empowering Women series and I thought it would be fitting to pre-face the series with this AMAZING entrepreneur. Tahaji launched her brand Goose & Gander after being laid off from her corporate job back in 2015. Read below to hear more about the meaning behind the brand and what she is all about!! I absolutely love what Tahaji represents for this generation.
1) How did the Goose & Gander Brand come about?!
Goose & Gander Brand was something I wanted to do for a long time but was afraid to start. Although entrepreneurship is the current buzz, it is such a risky journey. I’ve always loved fashion but after feeling unfulfilled in my own journey, and hearing so many stories of people wanting to take leaps towards their dreams but frozen by fear, I knew I had to do something. After getting laid off twice in 2 years, I knew it was time to pursue my passion and start the brand!
2) What does the name Goose & Gander represent for you?!
Goose & Gander Brand represents the pursuit of passion. It represents a lifestyle movement of doing more of what you love and helping others while doing it. It goes beyond clothing but feeling empowered to take leaps and create new adventures. Now more than ever I think its important to challenge ourselves to step out of our comfort zones and create happier experiences. Life is not meant to be drudged through but lived.
3) What does the phrase ” Women Empowering Women” mean to you!?
This phrase simply means love to me. When we love someone, we uplift them to become better versions of themselves. It means I’m celebrating and inspiring women in whatever ways I can to create better experiences from their interaction with me. Lastly it means togetherness. Everything great that happens in life is because of who God has placed around me. Great things are created through togetherness.
4) Tell us one random fact about yourself!?
I am afraid of flying!-I’ve tried almost every remedy in the book! Although I fly often, its something that’s been hard to shake. I’ve never had a bad flying experience until earlier this year. I honestly think it may have helped me get over it instead of making it worse. (I fly later this month so I will keep you posted, lol) 🙂
How lovely is Tahaji?! Ben and I are rocking these tees designed by her. The tee I am wearing is the heartbeat behind a lot of what I am going after in this season! “EMPOWER”… I fully believe that we rise by lifting others!! Not only are the tees cute but they are comfy and carry a powerful message!! Check out more of the Goose & Gander brand here!!
