Happy Wednesday everyone!! Today I wanted to talk about “Me Time.” I will be the first to tell you that I am the worst at stepping away lately. I started a job back in April that requires me to be at work for 10 hours a day, which typically means 11-12 hours out of the house at a time. I do get every weekend off, as well as one day off during the week. The one day off during the week, my kiddos are craving my attention and I am longing to be with them as well. Appointments are usually scheduled for that day and before you know it is bed time. The weekends are filled with family time, catching up with friends and church. Often times Ben works on Saturday and I lead worship at our church 1-2 times per month which is normally a 1/2 day commitment. There are so many more details to our lives and our schedules but I won’t bore you with them! I am simply pointing out that when I am not at work, my absolute main priority and desire is to be with the kids. Things likes lashes, nails, coffee dates and any sort of alone time seems impossible and sometime selfish.
Me time and self care are so important for mental health. I have gotten to the point where I have decided that once a month I need to take care of myself. Whether that means nails and lashes, or some matcha tea at my favorite spot, it needs to happen and it needs to happen guilt-free. Even though you may be surrounded by incredible people that love you and support you and even understand you, no one is going to be a better advocate for you, than you. You know when you are done, need a break and need space. We must listen to our bodies, our minds and our hearts to take a break before we literally start to lose it LOL! As I had mentioned earlier I have not been good at doing this at all lately but I have already made an appoint to schedule some me tine for mid-august! It has to happen.
One of my favorite things to do when I am alone is browse/shop and drink a warm beverage! The other day I got dressed up in one of my favorite little dresses, put on some pretty earrings and necklace pictured above and went to my favorite spot in town, Tea Xotics! They have the best matcha tea and the cutest gifts in their shop! Sometimes just putting on something as simple as earrings and a necklace, adding a little lipstick and a smile and boom, you feel and look amazing!! The particular earrings and necklace I am wearing are from Ben Bridge Jeweler! I love the timeless styles and matchless quality in each of their pieces. The design on my necklace is so unique that it is eye catching!! Wearing jewelry as a mom is one thing I haven’t given up. I keep it minimal, but feminine touches like these bring women joy and can completely change a look.

Me time is so important and there are few places I’d rather spend it. They put a tea shop near my apartment right after we moved out. I was so disappointed they didn’t put it in sooner. Love that dress! The colors are amazing together.
I love that necklace. So pretty! I have the one pair of earrings that is kind of like large moving orbs that I wear all the time. It’s hard to describe, but it’s multi tone and goes with everything. I think that necklace you’re wearing would go with just about everything too!

It’s so good to have that time to yourself, even if it’s just stepping away to read a book. You definitely come back a lot more refreshed. Tea Xotics looks like a super hip spot to hit up. Even though I’m not an avid tea drinker, I would probably just drag out my sister who loves tea and just enjoy the atmosphere haha!
