Sacramento Fashion Week

This past Friday night, I had the privilege of attending Sacramento Fashion Week with two of my good friends! When I found out that my friend Deborah got VIP tickets for us, two weeks ago, I had been on cloud nine ever since!! I have never been to a fashion show before so I was really looking forward to this!! I had just said to Ben a few weeks ago, that I really wanted to go to NYFW in the fall.  Because of our fall schedule we both agreed that there would be no way. This was the next best thing and what a fun experience it was!!

Sacramento Fashion week was started 10 years ago.  This is what the founders of SACFW said in regards to their motivation behind starting these events. “With fashion becoming more mainstream and the growing demand for both beauty and fashion products in all markets; retailers needed a resource that would help them become profitable within the current marketplace, while manufacturers needed an outlet that would effectively reach these buyers.” It is clear that Sacramento Fashion week aims to provide a bridge between all areas in the industry: fashion designers, models, photographers, advertising agencies, modeling & talent agencies, fine artists, make up and hair stylists, exhibitors and entrepreneurs in the beauty, fashion and entertainment industry. They desire to produce a high quality event with the end goal of bringing more awareness and economic growth to the local fashion industry and as a spectator we got a true glimpse of these efforts.

I felt so proud to be a resident of Sacramento and being able to witness such true and genuine talent.  From the make-up to the hair, the models and the intricate pieces being displayed this was truly a artistry force to be reckoned with. Here are a few of the designers that we had the privelage of seeing!

Prior to the show, the girls and I thought that we would get dressed up ourselves, take some pictures and make a night of it! We drove in in a Jaguar (Deborah’s husband is the GM of Land Rover) and were blessed with second row seats at the show.  It was perfect.  Below is a glimpse of what we wore.
