Happy Friday everyone!! I can’t believe we are ending another week!!! I have to work today which is fine, because I have the entire weekend off!! The kids and I are headed to SF for an overnight to celebrate a friend’s birthday at the beach! My family LOVES the beach! In fact we already have a trip planned for both June and July near the water. We are stoked. Ben has to work this weekend so he and Charlie will hold down the fort. Also, do you remember Charlie? Our new black lab? He is gorgeous! Still driving me NUTS (waking me up at 445 am most mornings) but he is cute and HUGE. A whopping 4o pounds. I just had to share!
Funny story about this dress!! I actually ordered a completely different outfit. Yes, this is not what I ordered lol. I actually ordered a black jumpsuit and this came in the mail(insert big eye emoji)! It was one of those things where I was like… welllll I have a shoot in an hour. I can see if this works or just return it and shoot that look next time. I tried it on and was like “Wow!! I can actually do this!” Who knows why this happened, I probably put this thing in the cart while I was yelling at the dog and pulling Judah from the chandelier, but truth be told, I am glad I got this dress. It showed me a few things! 1) Go outside of the box sometimes. I honestly would have never chosen this color red. Why? Because it is different and in my opinion unsafe and out of my comfort zone. Because I tried something different, I am now aware of another color that totally works for me! 2) Try things on. Even if you just swear that a certain style, or that color won’t look good on you, try it and you just might be shocked at how amazing you look!! So this miss-hap actually turned out in my favor!! Ruthie! My gorgeous babe! You look absolutely smokin’ in red! This is such a beautiful look, and I love what you said about going outside the box. When I have done that it also sometimes turns out to be a favorite! You nailed it (as usual, so I am not surprised), and I am so glad you found something new that you love! PS – my golden retreiver Nala was supposed to be 50-60lb. and she is over 80lb. – like a small horse! lol I feel ya, lady!

This dress was meant to be! Such a blessing to be like “hey I have this dress so I might as well shoot some photos!” And then looking absolute FIRE when you do! Going out of your comfort zone can be nerve-wracking at times, but when you see the positive, only good things can come out of it (which I need to remind myself more)!
