For Such A Time As This

February 8, 2016 By Ruthie Ridley 38 Comments

Hi there friends! I hope you have all had a lovely weekend!! I had one of those weekends that was initially like, ok God, either you get me through or I am not going to make it! It ended up being an incredible weekend. (I think I was just overwhelmed at the thought of all I had to do). Friday and Saturday was spent at a women’s conference where I got to lead worship with a friend amongst 700 + beautiful women. It was such an overwhelmingly powerful time. On Saturday afternoon My kids enjoyed a very fun birthday party with friends outdoors. Our Saturday evening was chill and restful and we spent the majority of Sunday at church. Here we are at the beginning of another week and I am SO thrilled to say that our Ben comes home late tonight! I am over here crying about a ten day trip, while I have friends that have their hubby’s gone for months at a time for jobs etc. I really can’t complain!
This past weekend this thought came to mind that reminded me of a scripture in the book of Esther. “…Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”(Esther 4:14) It made me think about the timing of my life, my birth, my existence.  I could have been born in any century and time period, but I was born for this time. What an incredible time we are living in.  When I think about Esther and how her life was one of true purpose, it makes me want to live my life the very same way.  She took risk, she was brave, she was obedient and she realized the call on her life and the affect that she had on others. For this biblical time period, this was huge.  It is one of my biggest desires to make a sizable impact in this life .  I want to leave a legacy that my children will be proud of, living each day realizing, that I was born for such a time as this.  Just some random thoughts I had!
On to this dress! Some times I like to wear pieces that are loud and make a statement. This dress describes my personality a bit.  I can be loud, command attention (crazy obnoxious laugh!) and be full of color.  I saw this dress by She In Official and thought, I need that! Not to mention, it is less than 20.00! I paired it with a nude, fringe heel.  To me this is the perfect accessory.  You will notice that I am not big in to accessories/ jewelry.  I actually love accessories but I am just not the best at styling jewelry pieces etc. with outfits. I would easily wear this dress to date night!   Thank you as always for stopping by the blog!  Hope you all have a fantastic week!  Much love,
Ruthie xo
A few questions for you:
What did you do this weekend?!
What are your thoughts on being born “for such a time as this…”?
Would you rock a dress that makes this much of a statement?

Unfortunately I did not have as an eventful weekend as you. I worked on my blog and social media and then watched the Super Bowl with family. I hope the retreat was restorative for you. And on the dress! It looks great on you and yes I would (and do) rock bold statement pieces. Great post!
