Shopping For The Right Mobile Phone For Your Child

July 24, 2018 By Ruthie Ridley 56 Comments

This post is sponsored by Trademore. I was paid for this post.

Do you remember your first cell phone?! I was 16 years old and finally got the permission from my parents and raised enough of my own money, to purchase one! It was a Nokia with a pink phone case! Very simple, and looking back bare bones compared to what we have now, but boy was I THRILLED to be a cell phone owner. I wasn’t cool enough, or old enough to have a pager so this was a big deal!

Here I am almost 20 years later prepping to purchase phones for my own children! We have little rules such as, they have to wait till middle school to add texting and all that jazz, where there is an actual need, but having a phone / device is so much more than communication.  My kiddos are gamers and on their free time we let them play for an allotted period of time on their devices.  I want a device that is reliable and sturdy but does not cost a fortune!

Today I wanted to share a platform with you that makes shopping for the right mobile phone for your child affordable and easy! Let me introduce you to Trademore.  Trademore offers a huge variety of devices to shop from at great prices.  You know how it is, kids can be careless and irresponsible! I love that Tradmore allows you to shop pre-owned devices that are reliable.  All devices go through a 30-point functional and cosmetic inspection.  Each and every device receives a 100 % inspection score.  This is so important to me! Even when you are paying less, no one wants to risk wasting their money on junk!!

The process is quite simple! Head over to the site, choose what phone or device you would like and then the site asks questions such as: color, carrier, condition and capacity.  Based on your answers you will get a quote! If you are in a rush, no problem! Trademore offers 2 day shipping! You seriously cannot beat that! Thank you as always for stopping by the blog!

Sounds like such a good site! I hate giving my kids phones, but it seems like in this day and age they need one. My youngest doesn’t have one yet-but I will check out this site when it’s time for him to get one.

Thankfully, since we homeschool, we don’t need to worry too much about phones for both kids. They just have an older model iphone to use for emergencies.

It’s always A struggle to figure out what to do with a little one and a cell phone. Right now we’re keeping his contact with one minimal, but know that someday he’s going to need one for emergencies. This looks like a great option for when he gets older.

This has to be a pretty big decision. I don’t have children but am amazed at how young I see kids with phones now. It’s yet another decision for parents (when, how, what).

People always look at me strange when i tell them that i got my first phone when i was 9 (im 22 now). I was a lock-key child, meaning i let myself in after school while my parents were still at work, so me having a cellphone was for emergencies and stuff like that.

WHAT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST MIRACLES YOU HAVE EVER WHAT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST MIRACLES YOU HAVE EVER WITNESSED GOD DO IN YOUR LIFE?!✨🫶🏾🕊️❤️‍🔥🙌🏾🙏🏾🤍

I’ll go first!! Earlier this week I was just thinking about how faithful God has been to me over the years! I think we all go through different highs and lows, but it’s so good to stop and look back and remember what God has done!

Back in 2008 when Ben and I just got married, the market had crashed. I had purchased a home on my own in CT- We lost the house and our cars were repossessed - I honestly felt like we would never recover from that!!! Not to mention, I felt so much failure and shame attached to that season!

Fast-forward to 2019, we begin working with our dear friend @cody.d.williams on purchasing our very first home together and he told us all the work that needed to be done with our credit, etc. we took a year and did everything we could to get things right! Not only were we able to purchase our first home together in 2019, but everything from the past was no longer a factor & two years later we were able to purchase an even more magnificent property that we now call home 🏡

Why was this a miracle for me? I think because I thought we would always be behind & nothing would ever change. We rented for 7+ years before we were able to purchase a home as a married couple and that started to discourage me!

Just a reminder that little miracles happen everyday and that your worst is never the worst. God can turn your situation around in a moment!!! The BEST is yet to COME!!! Keep believing ⭐️

Spending time with these wonderful humans this week reminded me that I still belong here, even though I might not look like everyone else (or feel like I fit in) that’s the beauty of it all right?

I think after doing something for a very long time and in this space specifically, it’s easy to feel imposter syndrome, self doubt and the inability to “keep up”. Although an app or an industry has changed over time it’s so important to stay true to yourself.

So grateful for this time away & I’m leaving with my cup overflowing! God is always on time with these types of things. Just when we need another boost or some encouragement, He sends all the right people your away! He is just good like that 🤩
