5 Ways To Cultivate Creativity

Dedicate a creative space:

The reason why intentionally creating a space to create is so important, is that you are literally a making room for inspiration, thoughts and ideas to to flow. Ben and I have made the guestroom our space to study, be creative and work. I find that when I separate myself from the rest of the house and all the noise, my thoughts are clearer and I am way more productive! It is very effective.

Stay Inspired:

One simple way to do this is surround yourself with creative people. I do this personally by following a lot of different fashion blogs. That always gets the creative juices flowing for me. I love seeing how other people create content, how they style pieces, how they photograph, how they choose locations…it all gives me ideas on how I want to do things next and how I can personally improve.

Change the format and join forces:

Typically as a blogger you work by yourself. You create content as an individual sometimes alongside a photographer. A couple months ago I worked with another Blogger friend and we created content together. What we were able to come up with collectively was some of the most amazing content that has ever been on my blog.  There is so much power in working together and in collaboration. Magic happens when people join forces and strengths and I really feel like I want to do that more this year! Truly a beautiful thing! You can see what we did here and here 🙂

Step out of your comfort zone – take time for stillness:

It’s amazing what happens when I put away my phone, go for a walk and all I can hear is the sound of my steps and nature. So many creative thoughts and ideas go through my mind when I’m still and I’m quiet. If I could do this every single day I think it would be very beneficial. Although it is not realistic, I believe that it’s a good idea to be intentional with being still a few times a week.

Study as much as you practice:

It is said that “Creativity and inspiration is a result of aspiration.” This one I am guilty of. I don’t put as much time into study as I should but it is extremely important if you want to grow in your craft and being creative.
I think that is my two cents for today!! What do you do to stay creative?!  I would love to hear your thoughts!! PS.  My dress is from Shop Pink Blush.  The most simple dress and I get SO many compliments on it wherever I go!   Here are a few other super cute dresses by them that I have styled over the past year here, here and here :).  Happy hump day everyone! I hope you have an awesome day and rest of your week!
Much love,

I honestly went back and forth on sharing this but I honestly went back and forth on sharing this but why not 🤪. I left the worst ones out 😅

Online hate is wild to me. People behind a screen saying whatever they want not realizing it actually affects real people.

I posted a simple cute video of Ben and I going from regular clothes to our work uniforms. it went viral, which is a chance you take so I got a lot of love which I’m thankful for but a lot of hate as well.. these were all strangers, people who don’t know that we’ve been married almost 18 years, have a beautiful family, genuinely love each other, and love what we do and the people we serve 👮‍♂️ 👩🏾‍⚕️ 🩺

You expect it to some extent but I didn’t realize how much words could still affect me…I’m 41 almost 42. It really doesn’t matter how old you are words still hit.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy just a reminder before you leave a mean comment on someone’s page whether it’s a stranger, someone you know, or someone with a big platform think twice. Words matter & they impact people more than you think.

And don’t worry I got a new wig this week 😝💀🤣

This time last year I was unexpectedly renewing my This time last year I was unexpectedly renewing my Nursing 🩺👩🏾‍⚕️ license after leaving my job in 2020 and spending five years at home with my kids creating content full time. To say I was shocked to be reentering the workforce is an understatement. Sometimes life shifts and you just have to roll with it 😮‍💨

I am SO thankful I had the opportunity to go back to work but it was hard. I felt like I failed in my business & I was down BAD 😝 But I realized something….God makes NO MISTAKES.

I LOVE my current job & I STILL get to create content, but now it feels more authentic and true to who I am😌

I am dancing because I can & because I am thankful. Your life can change SO much in a year, overnight or In a MOMENT. Trust God with your life. He will NEVER let you down 🤍
The Cop 👮‍♂️/ Nurse 👩🏾‍⚕️Comb The Cop 👮‍♂️/ Nurse 👩🏾‍⚕️Combo😝!!! You already know life is crazy, there is no “work-life balance” & we have stories to exchange for dayyys!!!

If you’re new here, then I’ll give you a little bit of a backstory but also if you’ve been here for a while because a lot has changed in the last year 🤪.

I became a nurse at 19 after graduating high school early, raised in a very purpose driven Jamaican home. Nursing was never just a job for me. It was provision, connection, and a way to serve people from all walks of life.

In 2020, I stepped away from nursing to pursue content creation full time, and it truly felt like a dream!!! The biggest blessing was the time it gave me with my family. Being present, raising my kids, and soaking in every moment 🥲

Then almost exactly a year ago, May 15, God called me back to nursing, and I couldn’t believe it. The transition was not easy, but it has been one of the greatest blessings. My heart is so full, and I have never felt more aligned in what I do.

God knows what He is doing. He makes no mistakes 🤍 Where are my nurses, law enforcement, and first responders at 🙋🏾‍♀️
