Holiday Stress: How I am avoiding it this year…

So, I would like to know, who is that last minute shopper out there?! Over the years that has certainly been me! Ben and I would run around Target and Kohl’s like mad people in search of the perfect gift for all those on our list! Over the years I have come to the place where I really want to enjoy every moment of the holiday season. Shopping, decor, cards, parties etc. are all so much fun but can add to the stress of the season!
This year I have made a little list of goals and time frames so that I can accomplish what needs to get done, while still enjoying every moment I can, without major stress. For starters, we got our family photos done last week! Now that they are done, I will be ordering my Christmas cards and hopefully sending them out Dec.1-3. With Social Media, it is so easy to get away from this tradition, not only because you see pictures of people and their families daily, but also it just takes so much effort! Even still, I want to keep sending out cards as long as I can. Next little job will be getting our tree and putting it up! Last year we went to a “tree farm”that in fact ended up being a ton of trees in a parking lot! We will be saving ourselves the stress and time of hunting for the perfect tree from the “tree farm” and picking one out here, locally. We are aiming for the first week of December, after we return from our LA Thanksgiving. Lastly, our shopping strategy.
In the past, Ben and I just winged it, as stated early, running around with lists of people and just sort of guessing as we go on what to buy for them. This year, we have our list pretty figured out. The main thing that we will be changing (besides shopping earlier) is participating in Cyber Monday… We never have! I know, crazy right?!? The reason we are so keen on this this year, is because a few family members, including us are buying the kids a kindle fire each. Shhh, don’t tell them!! I am so tired of them fighting over that one ipad!!! LOL. SO yes, we will be on the computer Cyber Monday searching for the best deal for one of those babies!! I think Ben has gone out for one black Friday in our entire marriage. I think we are going to brave the storms again for a must have purchase! We have been married for 7+ years and still have our queen sized bed that was so graciously given to us. We love this bed, but it is getting small for the 3 extra people that like to (some occasionally/some too frequently) visit during the night. We will go out on Black Friday in hopes of a killer sale on a King Sized bed as a gift to each other!
Speaking of Black Friday, Evy’s Tree¬†is running their Black Friday sale Friday 11/20 @ 8am – Monday 11/30 midnight.

Pictured below, I am wearing a piece from their Holiday/ Winter line. This is the “Vanessa.” I might be biased, but Evy’s Tree hoodies are the coziest, comfiest hoodies around!! Be sure to get a head start on your holiday shopping with them if you are interested in gifting a special someone with one of their pieces! Here are some of the important deets:
*Buy 1 Get 1 60% off a full-priced item (gahh!! Insane!!)

*Black Friday shipping rate: $4.99 FedEx and $8.99 USPS

I hope you all have an extra special Thanksgiving and an incredible Holiday season ahead!! PS. If you have any Cyber Monday or Black Friday tips to share, please spill the details!! Thank you for stopping by the blog! Much love to you all,

Ruthie xoxo
