Hi all! My name is Anna, I am the content curator for www.pepperandlife.com and I couldn’t be more excited to write a post on Ruthie’s blog!
I was born and raised in Dominican Republic. I am married with two boys and a boy dog. I’ve loved fashion ever since I can remember. I have a Fashion Merchandising degree and speak fluent Spanish and some French. I’m a Target junkie and I am a self-proclaimed expert in affordable style.
Ruthie wanted to do a collab post swap for Valentine’s, so I thought it would be perfect to talk about what my husband and I do for Valentine’s every year. We like to say we have a tradition but in reality its not. Let me explain…
After a few Valentines under our belts with the typical romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant, as most new couples normally do, we decided to switch it up just a tad.
One year I wanted to make a romantic meal for my husband at home, as we didn’t feel like braving the crowded restaurants. I made lobster tails with roasted vegetables and some sort of dessert that I can’t really remember. It was a very romantic and relaxing evening at home.
Ever since, we decided to take turns every year planning our Valentine’s Day. Problem is that every year we keep forgetting who planned it last. You see, Valentine’s Day is not a huge deal for us because [almost] every day (I know this sounds cliché, but it is) is Valentine’s Day. We flirt, we text a lot and we are very expressive on a daily basis.
So, now we flip a coin to see who gets to plan it, yes seriously! Sometimes we don’t really do much, but we always give each other cards. I always choose a funny one and he writes super romantic, sappy stuff that really makes my heart melt. We also attend an annual Valentine’s party hosted by friends that are always a lot of fun.
Now on to this outfit. Some of you may recognize this skirt as part of the amazing Who What Wear X Target line. I just love the tea length and pleats for that girly romantic look.
I wanted to add a pop of red and did so with this tank top, also from Target, and also wanted to give this girly look a bit of edge with this leather jacket from Forever 21. Add some sexy heels, also from Target, and you got the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit. Told you I was a Target junkie!
