Well, it’s officially Winter here and we have fully buckled down on attacking house projects head on! For those of you that may be new around here, we moved into our new house at the end of August! This has been one of the most exciting times of our lives, marriage and family in general. This property is an absolute dream come true. Everyday I wake up, I cannot believe that this place is ours!
I remember seeing this house for the first time and the first thing that stood out to me was the wood floors in the main living area including the kitchen, dining room and living room as well as the high beams and ceilings. It was all SO beautiful! Having said that, flooring throughout the remainder of the house was rough! I believe the owners before us put their energy on those few areas for the hard wood and didn’t focus anywhere else! I believe their intentions was to move out after a short period of time, so I certainly do not blame them!

In the bathrooms and laundry room there was layers of linoleum. Ben and I discovered this in the demo process prior to laying our new tile down over the past few weeks! Knowing that the house was built in the 1970’s I expected parts of the home to be extremely outdated, beyond what we could see on the surface and boy were we right!

I think the first instinct when you move into a new home is to want to update absolutely everything immediately, but we all know that is not realistic! We are taking things slowly and trying to enjoy the process! This month we are hosting big parties several times which has surely gotten us to really focus on getting these projects done in a timely fashion!
Since moving we have painted the entire downstairs of the house a nice clean white, including the fire place and have just in the last few weeks moved on to updating some of the flooring! My priority was the entry way and the downstairs bathroom. Both areas have the most traffic from visitors of any other area of the house. It is important to me that the there are areas of the house that are an expression of who I am as a person. I am expressive, eccentric, creative and I can be loud. I wanted that to be translated in some of the flooring!!
For our main area we kept it safe, clean, warm and welcoming use this Bergamo Gris Ceramic Glazed tile! I love the design, colors and size so much! I think it came out so great and is a MAJOR upgrade from what we had before. The tile before was very late 90’s early 2000’s!

For the downstairs bathroom, I wanted to make a statement. This is the main bathroom that our guests use and I wanted it to be a space that people leave inspired and never ever forget. This MSI Amantus Encaustic tile will do that to ya!! I am OBSESSED with this tile through and through! I LOVE how it came out so much! We will use this tile in our laundry room as well!

Shout out to my husband who is the ultimate MVP. He did both spaces so well. A few late nights, lots of tile cutting and fun runs to the Home Depot! We are really enjoying making our house our own in every single detail! Shop the tile we put in the bathroom here and in the entryway here. Thank you as always for stopping by the blog!

Alors oui et surtout non. Certes parce que il est probable qu’on acquiert d’autres sources qui mentionnent de semblables . Non car il ne suffit pas de copier ce que tout le monde peut trouver avec certains site internet tiers et le transcrire tellement aisément…
