My living room is finally complete! I have been working on this space for the past few months. Gathering small items I loved along the way. Decor is definitely not my strong point! My friends would always say to me that if I can style an outfit I can decorate a room! I don’t know if I agree with that yet, but I do know when it is time to call in for help!! My friend Deb helped me just piece things together literally from her home when we first moved in. She has a true gift for elevating a space and transforming a room! I was so grateful for her help. At the time I couldn’t afford much. She gave me curtains, mirrors and rugs from her own home!! This current transformation was done with the help of my friend Tina. Like Deb she has a true gift. She has a great eye for piecing things together and was constantly asking me what I loved and then on her own time she would pick things up here and there that she thought would go well with my space. Luckily we were working with a lot of what I already had. My budget was fairly small. In addition she quickly realized my style and just about everything she chose I loved!! This was a really fun experience! One afternoon she brought everything to my home and she just put it altogether effortlessly! I am amazed!!!
My red couch is older than Ben and I have been married and the brown/beige couch was given to us for free! When doing this space over I started with two items of inspiration. First off, this fun chevron hand woven rug from Rugs USA. We got size 6 X 9 and it fits perfectly in our space. I wanted a real neutral color so I could work with other pops of color. You can find my exact rug here. The other source of inspiration to work off of was the gold foil map of California. It is by Minted and I absolutely love it. You can find it here. The last piece of home decor I had to work from as inspiration was the curtains pictured in the first photo! These are from Minted as well. I am always drawn to curtains with floral prints. These were just the right amount of floral as well as a good neutral color! From there we purchased accent pllows and wall decor for the room! We got most of the decor from Ross, Home Goods, Marshalls and World Market! These chairs Tina had in storage and I was OBSESSED. What do you think?! Should I keep them?! Do they fit nicely?! Let me know what you think of the overall space!! I am so happy! It is very Californa, boho which I love!!
