I am sure we say this at the change of every season, but I truly can’t believe that we are headed into the Fall! Truth be told, the official first day of Fall is not until September 22nd (about a month away), but with the kids returning to school next week, it feels like summer is over. It was a really good summer and I am trying to hang on to it! Last weekend we had one last hurrah in San Francisco. We spent the day eating good food, playing on the beach and taking a boat tour around the the bay. One thing you will learn about the Ridley’s is that we love adventure and the brief moments on the weekends where commitments are no more and we are altogether, we typically hit the road! We live in a really central spot where we can drive 2 hours and be in wine country, the bay or Lake Tahoe. We are blessed!! Last weekend SF won.
Today, I am wanted to share with you some highlights of summer to 2017 and why I am still hangin’ on!
- Vacation Bible School for the kids was amazing! This was their very first time at a legit VBS and I can honestly say their little lives were changed! They are still singing these songs and continue to say that this was their favorite camp all summer, and they did a few fun ones!
- RDSN/ Mexico was incredible. RDSN is a mission that serves orphans in Mexico. They take the ones that no one else wants. Every year they host a an “experience” for people to come and be apart of. We help build homes, outdoor bathrooms, buildings, do obstacle courses and street ministry. Most times you go down thinking you are going to make an impact on the lives present, but you always leave the one changed. There were a lot of special moments this year, but the one that stands out to me the most was the Sunday before we left. Worship that morning was just powerful. It was special. I saw a lot that morning that really touched me. It really felt like a marking moment…. Like an open heaven.
- Coronado Beach San Diego Wow, I get chills thinking about this evening. It was our anniversary and we went to this beach to capture some family pictures. I have never witnessed a more beautiful sunset and to be there with my whole family was really special. This beach will take your breath away. I cannot wait to go back to San Diego just to spend time on this beach! See pictures from that night here.
- I landed my biggest partnership to date with Home Depot!! This is such an exciting project for us!! I cannot wait to show you all that we have been working on!!
- On August 11th Love Has A Name was released by Jesus Culture! Wow, that was definitely a dream come true for me!! If you have not heard the entire album, I strongly urge you to download it and have a listen here. The song I am singing is called “Love that Saves!” EEEK!! Such a fun project and a true HONOR!
Those are my highlights but so many other amazing God-things happened this summer, that I can’t wait to show with you all as details unfold. I think it is so important to take a step back sometimes, look at the past, evaluate the present and dream about the future. We get one life and I plan on living it to my fullest!! Random thoughts, but I thought I would share!
Also this dress is from the very first brand to reach out to me on Ruthie Ridley Blog back in January of 2015! It took me some time to write the post because I was not pleased with the photos taken in front of my garage originally! I finally got the post done later that year and you can see it here!
