We have never taken a spring break trip and back in December we decided this was the year!! Florida was our first choice because we know that the state was pretty open and there was tons to do!!
We got through the travel, sleep deprivation and all the details of getting to Florida! We took a redeye so we were tired when we arrived, but we hit the ground running!
We headed straight to our friends Shawn and Mo’s home that’s just outside of Naples to spend the next two days! Our first stop was the pool, which was right inside of their community! Talk about dreams!! The kids swam their hearts out and had the best time! It was so relaxing just to sit poolside.
Once the kids got their wiggles out, we headed back to the house where they got showers and into cozy PJ’s!!! Shawn and Mo had a night out planned for us and it was amazing!! We ate at The Bevy in Naples followed by an EPIC sunset and amazing live music.
Today was all about the beach! It was also our last day with Shawn and Mo, which was sad! Mo has this EPIC business called Coast and Mingle where she sets up picnics on the beach for small and large parties!
We got spoiled and she did the same thing for us!!! Just WOW you guys. Talk about boho dreams!!!! She is SO good. We got stopped by folks passing by all day. A beach day is always a good idea!!!
Day three was all about getting settled into our Airbnb, getting groceries and a little bit of exploring!
Beaches are walking distance and palm trees are everywhere! I am in heaven!! Our friends arrived today as well which is a joy!!! Justin was Ben’s best man in our wedding!!
For as long as I could remember I wanted to visit Busch Gardens! As a child, I remember seeing commercials and thinking, gosh I wonder if I’ll ever get there! I was so excited when I realized that this trip I can finally live my childhood dream LOL!
Taking the kids was such a blast! Although I did not go on one ride, I really enjoyed all of the animals!
We went on a Thursday so the crowds weren’t wild and we felt like we had a lot of space and a lot of time to explore! Ben and the kids did as many rides as time would allow and made some pretty unforgettable memories!!!
Our original plan was to go to the beach today but then we woke up to 65° and windy! We went to the beach here in Clearwater anyway just to check it out and it was absolutely beautiful. Quickly, however, it got real cold and we thought, we have to come up with a Plan B. Thankfully the aquarium was right around the corner!
We have had the privilege of taking the kids to several different aquariums, but there was not one like this that we have been to before. We went to Clearwater Marine Aquarium where Winter, the dolphin with the missing tail, was!! She was gorgeous! I felt like we felt her life long “fight” while we were there. She has a prosthetic tail and has helped many men, women and children with therapy. Such a cool place!!
It just so happened that we were staying about 20 minutes away from good friends of ours. Roy married us and did our marriage counseling with Violet (who has since passed) 14 years ago! It was so nice for us to have dinner with them and meet his new wife! It was a really special evening.
Today was our last day here! We spent the morning doing putt-putt golf at Smugglers Cove Adventure – a total of 18 holes!! So much fun. We even fed the alligators for a little bit!!
Vacation has come to an end. We are ending the night with sushi, and just laying low at the house! We fly out tomorrow! Thank you guys for following along!
Everything I packed for this trip is HERE!!
