This time last year we were kicking off the year with celebrating our 10th year of marriage. Our anniversary wasn’t until July but we wanted to spend some time reminiscing on our early days together and we knew that when our actual anniversary was taking place we would most likely be knee-deep in the police academy! Our first celebration of the year was a staycation alone at the Kimpton Sawyer hotel. It was extremely memorable as the hotel had just opened up a few months prior!


This year I was so excited to go back to the Kimpton but this time with the entire family! I love this location so much and have since stayed at a few other Kimpton properties in California. There’s something extra special about boutique hotels. And with Kimpton everyone oh them has their unique characteristics and touches to enjoy.


As always the amenities are second to none, with room service that is impeccable, the food is better than any restaurant and the views from the rooms always make me proud to live in sacramento! Every morning there’s fresh coffee from old soul, wine hour at 5 PM and the revival which is a part of the hotel is available for evening and late night drinks and bites!
The hotel is centrally located in downtown Sacramento right across from the golden one center, home of the Sacramento Kings. It is walking distance from some of my favorite coffee shops and restaurants. Including the Grange and Temple Coffee. Take a few steps from the hotel and you can be at the movies. Better yet, take a walk up the stairs and you are at Punch Bowl Social which is filled with a sea of fun activities.  For all of my local friends looking for a fun getaway not far from him, Kimpton Sawyer hotel is at the top of my list for recommendations! You can thank me later!
