With the madness of moving, I was so grateful to take a quick 3-day family vacation to Lake Tahoe. It’s only a little over 2 hours away from us, but it felt like we were in a whole new world and I’m so glad we got the chance to stay at the Edgewood Tahoe Resort!!
This place was so incredibly beautiful. The location was right on the water with this gorgeous beach area, the lodge itself had the most beautiful mid-century mountain aesthetic, it has an 8,500 sqft spa, heated lakeside pool, and amazing 5-star dining. The moment we got there, we felt like royalty. The staff was so sweet and we were even offered a glass of champagne as we walked in.
We arrived in the afternoon and had the whole evening to just settle in and explore. I always love having a pretty chill first day so that we have the opportunity to look around, but also get the chance to relax after traveling. But, of course, the kids went straight to finding all the cool things to do. They had such a blast playing corn hole on the lawn and running around on the beach!!
Once we finally got to our rooms to relax, Ben and I were blown away! The moment we walked in I just hear Ben say, “Yep, this is the nicest place we’ve ever stayed.” He definitely wasn’t wrong either! Not only did we have our room, but the kids had their own room as well. They felt so cool in their own space and Ben and I were definitely happy to have some time to ourselves.
On the second day, I knew I had to check out their massive spa! I got the most amazing massage and, considering things have been pretty stressful with moving lately, your girl needed this more than ever!! I felt so pampered. They really go all out when it comes to relaxation and luxury. I got this plush robe and slippers to wear, some soothing hot tea, the whole 9 yards.
Later that day, we reserved a cabana by the pool. I swear my kids are part fish because they can spend hours upon hours in a pool!! I think they would’ve been there all night if we let them. Sitting poolside with my family is definitely one of those things that is a must for our vacations and something I never take for granted. It’s so simple, but the joy that it brings my kids and the fun that we all have together away from distraction is priceless!!
On the last day, we went on a clear, that’s right, CLEAR kayak tour!! Let me tell you, if you haven’t been to Tahoe, it has the most beautiful water I’ve ever seen, especially for a lake! You can be in the middle of the lake and still see all the way down to the bottom. Man, is it cold though!! Thankfully we weren’t swimming in it, but riding clear kayaks, was the most beautiful thing. It was so trippy to be in a boat, yet feel like there’s nothing there considering you can completely see through it.
Throughout our stay, we had the most amazing meals at their resort restaurant. They even had things like an Evening S’more Bar, which the kids definitely enjoyed!! All in all, it was the perfect quick, local getaway for our family.
It felt weird taking a trip in the middle of moving, but I think it was exactly what we needed and I’m so glad we spent that time at the Edgewood Resort! For real, if you are looking to go to Tahoe this summer, not only do I recommend going just in general, but you have to stay at the Edgewood!! Without a doubt, one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed and perfect for your summer getaway!
