Temps are finally in the 50’s and we are living our best lives LOL! We pulled the kids out of school last week and took them up to Apple Hill, got hot apple cider donuts from the infamous Rainbow Orchard in Camino and headed to Lake Tahoe, which is only about an hour away! We hiked 4 miles at Echo Lakes and had the best family day. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten away and it was just what we needed.
With the change in seasons, I’m investing in thicker fabrics like this gorgeous tweed dress I picked up at Nordstrom. This is my FIRST tweed item ever and I’m pumped! There’s something so classy and timeless about tweed, probably because it originated in the UK in the 18th century. It was basically the hunting camo for British royalty. How cool?! Sportsmen liked it for its durability and warmth in intense climates, while still keeping a polished look. If it’s good enough for Victorian hunters on Scottish estates, it’s good enough for me!
From workwear to a dinner date, a classy Sunday brunch, or joining Ben at SACPD functions, I love the versatility of this dress. Y’all know if I’m going to splurge on a statement, it has to be worth my while. Plus, this piece is part of Rachel Parcell’s (from pinkpeonies.com) Nordstrom-exclusive collection and I absolutely love supporting blogger babes who are killing it.
As for the pumps and handbag, I’m obsessed. The Topshop purse adds a trendy flair, which y’all know I’m all about. And these pumps are so me! I love the classic silhouette with the unique heel. They’ll be a go-to throughout the holiday season!
Here are some more tweed pieces I’m swooning over! Which is your favorite?!
