I turned 40! Wow… It feels so crazy to say that. This June, I turned 40 years old and for so long I dreaded turning this age but honestly, I am embracing it with open arms! As this decade started to approach, I definitely felt myself mature in a way and grow in a manner that was definitely needed. I spent age 39 working on inner healing, letting go of people-pleasing and fear of man. I started to really take a hard look at myself and what I wanted.
If I’m honest, 39 was not easy, but the growth and lessons that came with it were necessary. I’m thankful for the last year of growth and now that I’m 40 I am dealing with other things that I’m working on with the Lord, but it feels different. We never fully arrive until we are face-to-face with Jesus and that’s OK. At least we get to do this life with Him.
Years leading up to my 40th, I knew I wanted to do it big. I wanted to have a huge party with as many people as possible and make it as memorable as I could. With the help of my party planner, Laurin, we were able to do that! I felt pretty bad, because quite a few of my friends were actually traveling overseas on the date of my birthday, but still loads of people that were in town were able to come out!
I absolutely love a good theme so I chose all white and everyone rose to the occasion. All of my guests were dressed to the nines!! I loved every single outfit, and I loved witnessing everyone’s personal style! We had Mexican food, which was absolutely delicious! Our wine was sponsored by Bogle which was divine. We also had a fun booth that was dedicated to permanent jewelry and a bracelet that was named after me! So many people are getting their “Ruthie” bracelet!! So cute!!
My friends flew in from Connecticut to be present and that just made this birthday extra special! Every detail from that location to the balloons, everyone’s outfits and the delicious food made this 40th birthday bash an absolute hit! I won’t ever turn 40 again so I wanted to never forget this day! In 10 years, I’ll do something again. Not sure what yet!
