“What you anticipate, you experience…”

October 14, 2015 By Ruthie Ridley 9 Comments

Ben and I met with a couple over dinner last Saturday night and we were so encouraged by the words spoken over that meal.  Two lines were said that I honestly have always believed, but to hear it spoken out loud by another human being made me believe this perspective that much more.  It made me come alive again.  It sparked something in my heart.  The two lines were ” What you anticipate, you experience” and “You get what you expect.”

Over the years I have found this to be true.  Not only in my life but in the lives of those around me.  A lot of times, it is extremely easy to focus on the wrong that is occurring, the lack that we are experiencing, the pain that is real.  At the same time it is so incredibly powerful and effective to take where you are now and think about where you actually want to be.  Declaring and believing that although you are currently not where you want to be, that you don’t have to stay stuck there and in your thoughts and your prayers you have the power to be apart of changing outcomes.  I have made it a habit to speak things out loud that are not yet so, as if they were, and have made prayer and active part of my everyday life.  Immediate change is not always evident, but my overall spirit and mindset manages to stay uplifted as a result.  What a man believes he is.  It says in Proverbs “For as he thinketh in his heart, so he is…” Prov. 23:7  It has become more and more clear that the thoughts I think and the words that I say have the power to affect the course of my life.  Positivity is powerful.  Let us choose our thoughts and are words wisely.  Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!!

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering what all is required to get set up?
I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Just stopping your scroll this evening to say GOD Just stopping your scroll this evening to say GOD IS GREAT. There are seasons where God takes years and decades to answer prayers (and I’m still waiting for some of those) and then there’s the moments where God answers your prayers hours or a day later. He’s amazing in the suddenly and he’s amazing in the waiting. Thankful for the journey✨Thankful for his faithfulness - thankful that even as I wait - He is still good😌

The way she spoke about healing, freedom, and using your own story to create change was both powerful and deeply moving. Her journey is a reminder that what we walk through doesn’t have to define us — but it can shape the way we serve others.
