“Warby Parker was founded with a rebellious spirit and a lofty objective: to offer designer eyewear at a revolutionary price, while leading the way for socially conscious businesses…Almost one billion people worldwide lack access to glasses, which means that 15% of the world’s population cannot effectively learn or work. To help address this problem, Warby Parker partners with non-profits like VisionSpring to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.”
Their mission alone makes me want to dance! Warby Parker was started by students that could not afford eye glasses, felt the misfortune of that and wanted to make a difference for others. Being impacted is one thing, but to make an impact on others, based on your prior experience is everything. I love everything Warby Parker is doing and stands for. You purchase a pair of glasses and a pair of glasses is then given to someone in need. Win, win.
This past week I got to experience the home-try-on program through Warby Parker. It was really simple and actually a lot of fun! For those of you that follow me on snap chat, (‘ruthieridley’) you saw that I put on my acting hat and threw on a strong English accent as I tried on each pair! It was hilarious, well, I crack myself up! lol Here is how the “Home Try-on” experience works: Choose 5 frames (they send them to you for free). You have got 5 days to pick your faves and they you return the ones you don’t love! Return shipping is also included in your package! It is pretty awesome. Here are a few other perks to using Warby Parker:
- Frames start at just $95 US
- One year guarantee no-scratched lenses
- Polycarbonate lenses (impact resistant) Whoohoo!!
- Durable material & screws (I need this with the kiddos)
- 100% UV protection
- Anti-scratch & anti-reflective coating included – Amazing!!
- Free shipping & returns- Who doesn’t love free?!!
Below you will see the frames I chose! The one’s I am actually wearing are my favorite. I originally thought the clear frames would be my favorite, but they didn’t look so hot with the shape of my face! It’s funny because, with glasses, you really have to try them on and sometimes wear them for a bit to make a true, informed decision. That is why I love this idea of getting frames sent to you that you pick out yourself and having them in your space for a little under a week, to play around with!! Let me know what you think of me in glasses!! In the mean time, I am headed to the UK, probably boarding a plane as you are reading this, headed to my sweet sister-in-law’s wedding! I will make sure to snap as much as I can of England so I can share it with you all next week! Take care!
