Mother’s Day is fiercely approaching! Instead of doing a gift guide for you all this year, I thought I would share the one thing that I learned from my mom! Everyone that has met my mom once can agree with what I am about to say about her! She is one of the sweetest human beings you will ever meet. I don’t think I have met anyone more loving, forgiving or gentle in my entire life. I am a little more wild and rough around the edges but I hope to take on this beauty of a person my mom is as time goes on. The one thing I learned from my mom is compassion. Before I get into her let me share the definition of compassion… it is ‘sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.’ She is the definition of compassion. I even love this scripture that talks about the compassion of Jesus: “But when he saw the crowds, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matt 9:36 My mom is beyond compassionate. If you are sick, she feels sick and will pray you to health. If you are broke, she will go broke with you giving you her last dime. You all get the idea. Because of her compassion she gives without restraint. In every way. Emotionally, physically, spiritually, financially. She is a giver. Compassion is the thread of her life. It runs through her veins and it is what almost every decision is filtered from with her. I can only pray that I can be more like her…. She is beautiful in everyday! So tell me, what is the one thing you have learned from your mom growing up??! I would love to hear! As this is my last post for the week, I would like to wish all the moms out there, a very Happy Mother’s Day!!
