We have never been to Mexico before! About a year ago we started talking about a couples vacation with our good friends Tony & Tonya as it was going to be her 30th bday celebration and our 7 year wedding anniversary. Earlier this year we found a deal on groupon to go to Cabo and we jumped on it! We booked a 3 night/ 4 day stay, all inclusive! Tony and Tonya along with another couple they are friends with in LA booked as well. We could not wait to see what it was all about :).
We stayed at the Royal Decameron. This is a chain resort that can be found on many islands, I learned. The resort was beautiful, clean and the staff was very professional, helpful and extremely kind! The food was pretty good as well!! Mexican food is not my favorite, so keep that in mind! I would give it like a 7/10?! Not bad at all. Obviously some meals were better than others. Breakfast was my favorite.
Immediately after getting through customs at the airport Ben and I were stopped by several gentleman asking if we had made reservations for transportation. We had planned on getting a taxi with our friends once we all arrived. A gentleman who worked at the airport but also worked for a resort called “Solmar” offered us a ride to the resort along with a ride back, free breakfast, a horse back ride and a boat ride all for a cheaper price then if we were to grab a taxi or a rental car ourselves. The stipulation was that we would check out the resort he worked for the following morning. They kept ALL of their promises, which I was extremely leary of, but this turned out to be a nearly 4 hour time share presentation ?. Slightly surprised… But it all turned out to be a major blessing. All of our transportation was completely discounted and our activities for that day were free of charge. Not to mention the free food and drink! Below are the pictures of this incredible, yet pricey resort ?
Our free boat rides and expeditions 🙂
Most of our time was spent by the pool and in and out of all the food stands at the resort. If we had to do it again, I would say that all inclusive is the way to go. It was incredibly freeing to grab a bite to eat or drink at liberty without having to figure out checks after every meal! This vacation was extremely relaxing which is just what we needed. We also met some really nice people. It’s amazing how much more willing people are to chat with strangers when they are on vacation, free of responsibilities and stress.
We dressed up every night for dinner! I even got some reallyy good reading in 🙂 The second to last day a few of us splurged and got massages! Divine!!
